Degree in Veterinary Medicine (5 yrs)

Veterinary Medicine is the application of medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic principles to pets, and exotic, wild and production animals. Veterinary Science is vital to the study and protection of animal production practices, herd health and disease control. It requires the acquisition and application of scientific knowledge to multiple disciplines and technical skills aimed at disease prevention in both domestic and wild animals.

The Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio university offers students the chance of studying this degree, under the Sectoral Directive 78/1027 EEC. Throughout the degree, students will acquire a sound grounding in Veterinary and related sciences. In this regard, the University has a newly inaugurated Veterinary Hospital offering state-of-the-art facilities, which include surgery rooms, digital radiology, MRI for horses in Hallmark station, rehabilitation pools and high speed treadmills. This Hospital makes it possible to implement the theory learnt in the supervised practical training.
