The degree in Translation and Interpreting is open to those who have a practical knowledge of at least one foreign language and who wish to come into contact with different cultures.
In the Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio university, the comprehensive syllabus and the technical, material and human means enable students to acquire those linguistic skills, which are necessary to carry out their future profession. The teachers in Translation and Interpreting, specialists in language teaching and other complementary subjects, will guide students throughout the degree, making sure they are qualified enough to be able to work as translators or interpreters.

The translation techniques are essential tools for translators. Thanks to them, on many occasions, translators manage to work out any kind of hurdle. By translating texts of different genres, registers and styles, students will implement the contrast analysis of nominal and verbal categories, number, plurals, tenses, the passive voice, adverbs, periphrasis, modal verbs, and expressions used to make comments; as well as the analysis of mistakes (foreign words and phrases, false friends, prepositions and structure shortcomings).
